"An intergalactic case of the Measles"

Films: Dead Space (1991)

Alias: None

Type: Mutant

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: Twice that of an average human.

Affiliation: Neutral

Summary: And once more, the Xenomorph rip-offs try to state their claim. Give it up already. There's only so many times you can take what isn't broken and try and pass it off as something wholesome and original. Origin-wise, on the other hand...

History: Somewhere on the research planet Phaebon, which orbits Saturn, a horrific experiment has broken loose. An attempt at testing cures for viruses has not only unleashed a deadly strain, but also given life to a deadly mutant life form that's constantly growing.

Notable Kills: Nothing special

Final Fate: After the beast gets its lair blown up, it seems lifeless. But the job is only done when any trace of its existence is eradicated.

Powers/Abilities: Capable of spreading a terminal disease, and apparently immune to bullets.

Weakness: Heavy artillery. Preferably, burn it alive so nothing remains.

Scariness Factor: 2.5-In spite of looking like an unholy cross between an alligator and a mantis, this thing is hamstrung by a low effects budget. To give you an idea, it spends most of its time rooted to the ground and flailing about in the hopes that it hits something. A Xenomorph Queen it desperately wants to be, and yet is not.

Trivia: -Apparently the director didn't even see the script until the shooting began.

-This film was also known as "Biohazard".
